Dorinda Metzer: Hi RW,If you live audio is bad too it can't be TIVO. Check all your connections between the TV and TIVO to make sure something isn't loose.Hopefully that will fix your problem.Norm...Show more
Rebeca Mckin: I just noticed that the live tv audio is distorted also. It wasn't like this earlier. Between the time when the audio was working fine and the time it started sounded choppy and distorted the tivo did a software update. could this have caused the problem?
Sheree Hipwell: Seeing as how the sound is distorded from recorded shows and live shows, I would say that your tivo is not the issue. Remember, your tivo is just a recorder that records the shows you tell it to. I would start by checking all of your cables (audio and video since you are checking) to ensure that they are all inserted properly to their respective locations.Odds are that maybe a audio cable get jiggled loose abit. If all of your cables are well inserted, then start looking at ! your equipment. Are you using a Home Theatre Reciever? could that be the problem since all of your sound is distorded? If your reciever has a built in tuner, try playing the radio and see if you still get distortion. If you do, then you have narrowed the issue to either your reciever or cables connected to it such as speaker cables and so on. If all of your cables are fine. Then I would assume that your reciever needs attention and possibly replacement. Good luck to you! Cheers!...Show more
