what is the difference between boat buoys and boat fenders?

Edmund Rappley: A Boat fender keeps a boats from bumping the dock with wind and currents. A Boat buoy is used to mark a deployed anchor for others can see the anchor lines. Buoys are used to mark a safe passage, channels, signage for warnings, and hazards.

Ramona Pago: a buoy is intended to float, a fender hangs from the boat.

Jammie Taddei: I understand your worries, but give it a try and repair it by yourself. There are plenty of manuals out there, who cost you less then 20 $. I got mine from www.carmanualstore.com! I think its worth a Try. plz check it this site there are better manuals.

Lashawn Zabarkes: That's a fender. I have sausage-shaped ones myself.I also have a round one, sold as a fender, that I only use as an anchor buoy or dive buoy. It's more an operational distinction, based on what it's being used for.I don't recall the term "boat buoy" - there are navigation buoys, marker buoys, instrument buoys etc.And sometimes lifebuoys, though that! term seems less common now...Show more

Norris Rosener: The link below is of a yacht. Everything else is a boat, even my 60' motor yacht.

Kim Gerbino: The fender is what protects the Hull when approaching or berthing with another object or vessel.A Buoy is a position marker. Navigational aid. Although I have seen Buoys deployed as Fenders, well, that answers it.

Lou Ravelo: A Buoy is defined as: bu·oy/ˈboÍžo-Ä"/Noun: An anchored float serving as a navigation mark, to show reefs or other hazards, or for mooring. So, a fender is most correct. It is intended to act as a protective device between the hull and dock or other ships etc.
