Gaston Edgcomb: Paint jobs are expensive, very expensive. You would most likely pay twice more than what you paid for your car. Its simply not worth it.How much the car goes for is anyone's guess. Depends on how many miles are on it, etc. Painting it would not incease re-sale value.Cars cheap on gas... I am guessing you are from America... Hondas are cheap on gas. Peugeot 206/207s, I would recomend, but I dont know how cheap they are to fix out in the states. Plenty of new economical cars around, but I doubt you would get anything decent for 1.5k.Bet bet is to buy an older car as your first, and learn how to drive on it, without caring too much about mantinence etc. And after a few months sell it and get something better and more expensive.You are bound to dight your car every now and then if you just get a license. Also, if you buy a cheap car, chances are the price wont drop too much in a year or two. And even if it does, it wont be a big issue.EDIT: Tail wing... Margart Stimpert: for fuel economy look for a four cylinder. a focus is such a car. stay away from one that has a lot of miles on it...it will be in need of many repairs....you should have someone check it out for you before you buy it...better to be safe than sorry....be concerned about the mechanical and safety features, before you worry about cosmetic changes
