How much are Cavachon puppies?

Ardath Templer: The best thing you can do is research local breeders to your area and ask if they mind helping you learn more about the breed. You want to find a breeder who health tests their breeding stock and also participates in both Show and Work settings. Goldens are particularly good at agility and also obedience. If you find a decent reputable breeder, they should be willing to help you learn and may even mentor you in the breed. It's also a good idea to attend shows and trials and just take a good look at the different dogs there, its a great place to get your questions answered as well :)...Show more

Mauro Cowee: One thing that could help is to find a puppy training class before you get the dog and go along to speak to the trainers and other owners. In that way you will get to hear first hand the issues that every new owner faces. Most good training organisations will be pleased to help even if you dont own a dog yet.

Barrett Felicia: $800 up at ! the byb/mills$250 at the shelters

Georgia Dees: He is vomiting, cant stand still, and he is salivating a lot. Its almost like a foam around his mouth. I don't think its rabies because he's perfectly nice.

Ilana Gaster: DONT TAKE HIM TO THE VET! Its a waste of money. Make your dog run laps or something. put him outside and spray him with the garden hose. do anything but take him and waste money! Dumb dog. My dog got sick from eating chemicals and some crap so I made him tough it out because it makes a man outta them! Dogs act too sensitive. Whats the worst that can happen? The dumb thing dies? Sheesh! Dont waste good money my friend... i dont givva flying damn what happens to my dog, broken leg, vomiting, but the vet just aint happening....Show more

Leisa Brodnex: I'm not sure what it could be but he definitely needs to be taken to the vet ASAP - dont wait to see if it gets better, the vet would be the best place for him

O! mar Phipps: Sounds like you want a Boston Terrier. Pugs shed like no tomorrow so you need to keep that in mind. About the best way to deal with the shed is to use a pro groomer real regularly. Min pins are very entertaining BUT they are one of the most stubborn dogs on the planet to housebreak. Very frustrating for me. Seems as though my Bostons were never this difficult. Also Bostons shed so little they can be considered wash and wear. One thing to bear in mind is that they do not tolerate real cold or real hot so you will need to be careful not to overheat them in the summer and may need doggy clothes for the winter.EDIT: Also, Boston Terriers don't do a lot of barking and if they do bark at all, it has a low pitch so it doesn't pierce your brain....Show more

Amina Motzer: It's not a hybrid. It's a mix. A hybrid is two separate species or subspecies (ie a donkey and a horse make a mule, etc) Contact a breeder. I don't associate with breeders that make mutts and c! an't imagine actually paying money for one.

Caterina Yeargan: Any dog with longer hair needs grooming. Are you choosing nothing but hairless breeds?Pugs are lovely but have eye problems.Pekingese are sweet but long haired.Terriers mosty have longer hair; the short-haired breeds are louder. The Sheltie is long-haired.The French bulldog is nice.Chihuahuas unless you get a lovable one are territorial and bark a lot.Italian greyhounds might be perfect--real sweethearts and no hair....Show more

Jorge Gerrero: I have been very impressed with my Rat Terrier mix. She's quiet unless she's playing (typical dog), rarely sheds and is HIGHLY intelligent. Consider looking through Petfinder.org or your local shelter (Google "rescue dog transport). You can find any dog of any breed/mix of any age in shelters/rescues; that's where I found my new girl....Show more

Dee Depung: pugs. they are nice, playful, gentle round kids and family, other pets. ur choice is great. pugs ar! e the best dog small or large.

Hal Rouse: When I first got my pup! py, I had the same problem as you, I didn't know where to start, because he was my first dog ever. So I went on internet and started to look for some information. I found this amazing book, it helped me a lot:The Everything Puppy Book - Choosing, Raising, and Training Your Littlest Best Friend. This is the link:https://www.amazon.com/dp/1580625762?tag=dogsbehat...I hope it will help you too! Good luck! ;)...Show more

Alden Sabio: this is a mutt. Its not a breed, nor is it a hybrid. They dont conform in any way, so while your brother may not have reacted to a few individuals, he certainly could react to another. There is no way to guarantee if it will have the cavalier coat or a bichon coat. That being said, mongrel pups are only worth about $50 if they have shots and worming.

Eldridge Rieves: I have a 2-year-old miniature Dachshund named Flash. He's a wonderful dog: healthy, house trained, and does not bark at all!

Inez Relihan: I probably should add t! hat there are no 24 hr vets here, so I just wanted to see how I can help my dog, before I take him to the vet tomorrow morning.

Angel Klym: You're probably looking at spending a ridiculous amount of money for a mutt. I'd say around $1200-2000, unless you can find one in a rescue.

Dorris Homola: sounds like he is severly dehydrated, probaly from vomiting so much, you need to take him to the vet asap.

Dwight Siniard: Its not a hybrid its a MUTT. A hybrid would imply that it is a cross between two different species. A Mule is a hybrid ( Donkey x Horse), a Zorse is a hybrid ( Zebra x horse), a Savannah is a hybrid (Cerval x Domestic cat) a "Cavachon" is a MUTT. It is NOT breed of dog and it is NOT recognized by any reputable kennel club and no reputable breeder will breed them. It is simply a mix between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon Frise. Just because your little brother didn't have a reaction to one or two of those mutts DOES NOT mean he wil! l not react to any other random bred mutt with a silly name. There is NO! SUCH THING as a "hypoallergenic" dog. If your brother is allergic to the dog's saliva then he will still be screwed. The "hypoallergenic" thing is just what BYBs and mills say to rope you into buying worthless mutts. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are plagued with many health problems when they are from "good" breeders. I could only imagine the issues a random bred puppy mill mutt will have. Do your research and get a Bichon Frise or a CKCS from a reputable breeder.I can not in good conscious help you support some scumbag backyard breeder or puppy mill. I wouldn't know how much one of those mutts costs because I am not naive enough to get scammed into buying one. If you want a mutt then go to a shelter or search http://www.petfinder.com/index.html or http://www.adoptapet.com/. There are plenty Cavalier and Bichon mixes in shelters. They usually run from $50-$200 in shelters.Edit: We are not the ones looking stupid because we are not the ones convinced that a Mutt is a hyb! rid. Here is an ACTUAL definition of hybrid"Genetics The offspring of genetically dissimilar parents or stock, especially the offspring produced by breeding plants or animals of different varieties, species, or races." http://www.thefreedictionary.com/hybridWhere in there does it say anything about a hybrid being a mix between two breeds of the same species together. It specifically says DIFFERENT SPECIES.No! A crossbreed of two different breeds of dogs is just that a CROSSBREED. It is NOT a hybrid....Show more

Angelyn Ducas: ~ Well, if you don't want loud I would think twice about a Min Pin as they are some heavy duty barkers. Now I can't speak for all of them as this is just in my experience but so far that is what I have seen. Pugs are probably a bit more laid back then a Min Pin, they tend to have a bit higher energy.Pugs are great and a good lazy dog. You really have to watch their diet and they tend to overeat and get very fat. 90% of Pugs are overweight. ! This is a common problem and unfortunately a lot of pet owners feed ver! y low quality grocery store or pet store food. This is not ideal for a Pug or any dog for that matter. I'm more partial to the not so common breeds like Tibetan Spaniels and Affenpinschers. Maybe you could research these two breeds and see what you think. The Affenpinscher has to be one of my favorite small breed dogs!...Show more

Ramona Pago: @ There are No Vets on Y!A - it also says "variety or race"!!! We have had this breed before and my brother is fine with them! I already stated that I know about the "hypoallergenic" terminology. I have studied genetics and development and I KNOW that there are different kinds of HYBRIDS. This is a hybrid. And by the way, you can't say it's a crossbreed and not a hybrid. Hybrids are products of crossbreeding. You need to take a class or something . . .

Corrina Faro: NOT A FING HYBRID=BYBd MUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!NOT a breed=BYBd MONGREL!CROOK-MADE MUTTS ARE WORTHLESS !Deal w/it kid...your pouting won't alter reality.

B! ernie Cerra: Find an emergency vet...try calling your regular vet, they should have info about what to do if you need to get to a vet while they're closed

Alisia Sutphen: For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/axB1tPros: None. Cons: Not a real breed, always bred by irresponsible backyard breeders and/or puppy mills, parents are always poor-quality dogs, behaviour and appearance cannot be predicted, not really hypoallergenic, etc. If you really want one, get a a rescue. If not, research some real breeds....Show more

Claude Gloden: Get him to a vet ASAP.

Hollis Demasters: internet and books

Georgianna Zollo: And you're asking this on here instead of calling a vet because... why?CALL THE VET.

Theresia Fashaw: I may be partial but without a doubt a Toy Poodle is the best small dog.As far as being a dog that must be groomed, keep in mind it is easy to learn how to do this yourself. Also, remember that a toy poodle will not sh! ed and if you are a new dog owner try and imagine a nice outfit dark in! color and a trip to the store with your doggie on your lap....messy!A toy poodle is much the same as a standard and don't kid yourself and consider this as a foo foo doggie. They are remarkable in intelligence; the health issue of a well bred toy poodle are minimal; most breeders will do all the genetic testing necessary to almost eliminate any health concerns. The dog is easily trained; portable; you can choose any color that you like; people love to sit your dog if you train it well because the dog is adorable, easy, and the doggie "mess" is simply so minimal/small that they are not considered a bother. Most apartments don't consider a 15 lb dog to be a "small" pet, toy poodles usually range from 5 to 7 lbs.I breed these beautiful dogs and can't say enough about them. Intelligent, brilliant, happy, have a tendency to love praise therefore have great behaviour, and again portable.I crate train mine at 5 weeks and beyond; and this easy dog to own is usually trained at ab! out 10 weeks., no kidding...Yes a toy poodle. My son wanted a min pin; and I learned that it is a dog that reacts to "prey" instinct. Can be very loud and they leave their coat EVERYWHERE.Treat yourself, contact Poodle Club of America and find a breeder in your area....Show more

Brian Marquina: A breeder (Or pet store) you`re looking at hundreds or even thousands of dollars.A shelter you`re looking at a hundred something the most. Every price is different. You can even get one for ``free`` or a really low price if you find one who`s owners can no longer take care of it (Either not enough money, room, or they`re moving.).Every Dog is expensive in Vet care and in general care.I think you should rescue one.Even if you don`t want to rescue one, you can very much find one for sale, like how I got my Dogs....Show more

Long Woltjer: I feel so bad for the poor thing, please give it a nice belly rub for me......and to answer youre Q. Ask a vet or search the web, I don'! t know too much about animal diseases, but if I know 1 thing THAT is 1 ! SEROUSLY sick dog. Please ask a vet, and If there is less than a 30% chance of him being cured, don't make him suffer any longer, not to be rude its just honesty. And againg, give him a real nice hug, and belly rub, from an animal luver, please....Show more

Vita Moodie: Speak to breeders and visit their dogs and litters but let them know you are doing research and want to find out if this is the right dog for you. They will respect you for doing that :)

Aldo Decurtis: in the internet end in books

Frank Gazaway: By the way, the definition of a dog hybrid is a crossbreed of two or more different recognized breeds of dog.

Providencia Jalbert: you can get online and look at the behavior of the breed and everything or you could even go to librarys and they will have stuff about the breed also. but i will tell you myself golden retrievers are awesome dogs i had one and he loved little kids, would go up to anybody and play with them, he would stay in the yar! d we didnt have to have him chained up or fenced in, they learn very quickly and pick up on what your telling them to do very fast. but to sum it up they are great with kids only need a bath about once a month, listen, and love just about anyone. oh and they absolutely LOVE the water....Show more

Lahoma Beadell: A small breeding dog is the perfect pet for all of us who live in little cubbyhole-like apartments. Instead get a dear little Chihahua or a Daschund. Most small breeding dogs don’t measure any more than 10 inches in height. Due to their portable size, they are…well…portable for starters..and can also adapt to smaller living quarters more comfortably. Here is a brief list of some of the dogs acknowledged by the American Kennel Club as Small Dogs.Maltese (belonging to the toy group).Manchester Terrier (belonging to the terrier group). Miniature Bull Terrier or Mini Bull (belonging to the terrier group). Miniature Pinscher (belonging to the toy group). Minia! ture Schnauzer (belonging to the terrier group). Harrier (belonging to ! the hound group). Havanese (belonging to the toy group). To that, we add a few more breeds you might want to consider:· Scottish Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier, Pug, Chihuahua, Poodle, Dachshund, Pekingese, Shih-Tzu, Welsh , Corgi and Toy PoodleGet all of your dog information at http://yougodog.com...Show more

Azalee Ahrendes: Since all breeders, even so-called breeders of mutts, set their own prices, you'll have to contact some to get an answer. We don't decide what prices people charge.

Ronny Nowzari: TAKE HIM TO THE VET NOW! THERE IS NOTHING THAT WE CAN DO TO HELP YOUR DOG! WE CAN'T JUMP THROUGH THE COMPUTER AND SPRING INTO ACTION. IF A DOG IS VOMITING+CAN'T STAND STILL+SALIVATINGTHAT INDICATES THAT A TRIP TO THE VET IS IN ORDER NOW!!!!!!

Monroe Rainey: Vet NOW! Sounds like poison.

Rosie Travino: Go to the bookstore or library and spend some time with books on raising a puppy and training a dog. Also look at specific books on Goldens. Find books t! hat match how you feel about raising or training your dog and buy a couple. Talk to certified pet trainers (i.e. not PetSmart) about training methods and plans. Know the costs associated with health care (call the vet), supplies (talk to breeder or current owners), food, training. Do you simply want a nice family pet? Do you want it to be a show dog? Do you want to do some other sort of training with the dog? Knowing what you expect from your pet will help you know what resources to utilize. Look online but use that as a backup to what you can find in hard print. Anyone can say pretty much anything online (as exemplified here on YA quite frequently :) !!) so it is good to use the internet as a backup until you find what is a reliable and true source for you. Plan to have many times during the first year or 2 where you thought you were totally prepared and feel the complete opposite. Prepare yourself for having many moments during the puppy phase where you alternat! e between loving this little creature endlessly and then thinking what ! the heck have I done? Hard work at the beginning (meaning first couple of years) pays off!!Goldens are awesome dogs! Our current dog is a mixed breed but we have had goldens in the past. They can be a challenge the first couple of years as they are super energetic but you will have a tough time finding a more loyal and loving companion....Show more

Wilfredo Muldoon: Wrong wrong and oh so wrong. You sounded ignorant the first time around, now you just sound like an idiot. A cavachon is, was and always will be nothing but a mutt. Not a hybrid, not a breed, but a MUTT. I actually like to see idiots and their money parted, but since your choice affects the lives of these puppies, then I do care. That your little brother didn't react to one or two of them, doesn't mean he will be so lucky with the mutt you bring them home, since the puppy is just as likely to end up with the CKC coat as it is the bichon. What they go for is directly related to the stupidity of the buyer! (you). In this case, I'd say about $2KLol, I think your IQ drops every time you touch your keyboard. I don't know what your source of knowledge is, but a hybrid is a cross between genetically DISSIMILAR organisms. ALL domestic dogs are nearly genetically IDENTICAL. Please also link to the legitimate breed club that recognizes the 'cavachon'Uh no - that's YOUR definition of a hybrid and the BYBs and puppy mills as well. Please link to a SCIENTIFIC source if you expect to educate the rest of us and prove every one of us wrong, like this "(biology) An offspring resulting from the cross between parents of different species or sub-species."...Show more

Hwa Waterford: My boyfriend and I plan to get a dog in the near future and want a small breed. I like pugs and he likes miniature pinschers. What are some good small breed dogs? We don't want a dog that is loud and needs grooming. So what do you recommend?

Hermina Ketring: ~SIGH~There MUTTS not hybrids, and not a bree! d.Want a MUTT go to your local shelter and you'll so Enough find one.

Hipolito Rightmire: youneed to call your vet they should have an on call vet ,most places do,also try to give it some fluids like broth or some pedilite to help with the dehydration,it will most likely have to have iv fluids now, please get ahol a vet asap

Norma Marsalis: Chihuahuas are small, but they do shed. Go to http://www.justdogbreeds.com/dog-breeds.html and look for small breeds-- each dog picture will tell you how often they need to be groomed!

Palmira Lochridge: I'm seriously considering getting a dog, a golden retriever specifically. I've read up on that specific breed, so I'm not blindly walking into this, but I still feel like there's so much to learn. Where do you think the best place is to learn this stuff?

Weldon Totaro: My dad grew up around Shih-Tzus because his mom bred them and I grew up around them because she would always give us a Shih-Tzu puppy every few years to add to our doggy family. I've always loved Shih-Tzus but it really! depends on how they're raised. Right now we have two Shih-Tzus, they are very calm and smart enough. They love riding in the car and if I tell them "car ride" they run to the garage door. They are very affectionate as well and they sit by the door to be let out when they need to go. As for grooming, I take them to a groomer every two months and get them a "puppy cut" which keeps their hair very short. I only brush and comb them once a week and I try to give them a bath on the month when they don't go see the groomer. Their grooming requirements are only difficult if you keep them in a "show coat." So, I'm gonna recommend Shih Tzus because I've only had positive experiences with them....Show more

Lana Uliano: You can expect to spend $1000 or more buying the dog from a breeder, and around $200 from a shelter or www.petfinder.com

Somer Distilo: To anyone saying this dog is not a hybrid, you are 100% incorrect. It IS a hybrid and it IS a breed. Please look up the ! definition before you reply in an ignorant manner. And for your informa! tion to all you ignorants, I would introduce the puppy to my brother to make sure he reacts okay to the pup. If I could have just ANY mutt, I'd get a shelter dog but he doesn't react well to those. Don't leave a response that makes you look rude and stupid.
