Heidi Creselious: Library book: "Marketing without Money" by Nicholas E Bade offers 300 practical ideas for getting your name out there without having to put out insane amounts of money. The book is free to read. Another book "Marketing without Megbucks" by Shel Horowitz is also good for ways to turn media attention onto yourself.

Marcia Cheathan: Here are a few ways:1) Yellow Pages. Even a small ad in the Yellow Pages is worth its weight in gold. This is the source most people turn to first.2) Design a personalized letter listing benefits of working with your firm when planning events. Attach a photo of any event where people look happy. It does not have to be your event. Visit country clubs and other clubs such as Kiwanis, and meet and talk to the social director. Leave her the letter.3) Design a professional looking flyer and post it on bulletin boards and deliver it to homes. 4) Have some promotional pieces made up such as pencils and pads with your firm's name ! and number. Hand them out at country fairs, women's markets, and other town gatherings. 5) Visit stores that sell bridal apparel and ask the manager to recommend your firm to future brides. Hope these help.amadeus...Show more

An Cardine: Step 1 is to create a detailed business plan. In that plan you will include information about the type of fashion you are looking to sell. Determine who your direct and indirect competitors will be, and discuss how you expect to carve out a market share.Step 2 is to create a detailed, month by month cash flow projection. This should provide both income and expenses. Along with this, you should document your projections with the assumptions you made to come up with those calculations.Step 3. Discuss with people who may be your competition about their perceptions of the industry, what some of the pitfalls may be in your start up, and what the rewards are of becoming a business owner.Step 4 is to determine what you need as a cash injection to get up and off the ground. Do not think that a lender will pay the entire amount of that injection. You will need cash or cash equivalents to get started.! I would contact someone at the SCORE (SBA related) counselors, about reviewing your information. With their input, proceed.Good Luck...Show more
