Can you tell me what is the exact difference between marketing and selling?

Rosann Mccomb: marketing is the process of comeing up with the ads to place targeting whatever group you will sell to, You can have many different avenues to market your product, Television, radio, newspaper, flyers, word of mouth, and so on. Selling however is basically being the person with the product and trying to exchange the product for other goods, like cash, or other goods you think is a fair trade.

Ardath Templer: Selling is the action.... Marketing is the strategy....

Chanda Wittwer: The key here is : a differant form. Your question is not specific enough. I know a thing or two about copyright infringement. You'd be suprised what things you can and can't copywrite. Your question is too general to get an accurate answer. Be more specific and I can help you.

Oscar Wieland: I need to send property details to my list of clients but because I have so many clients know it takes ages so email forwarding would make it so much easier and quicker!

! Esmeralda Pigram: how much would it cost me per click to post a product let's say in yahoo shopping..

Jestine Osumi: would i have to ask permision from the company if i used the exact ingredients they do but with a different purchase reason (use) i know it would be very popular with a great profit to boot.............would i get sued for copy write infringement

Logan Bero: Yes but I don't want to.

Donte Liversedge: Marketing is creating awareness for your product or service. Selling is generating revenue from the product or service (i.e) convincing someone that it solves their problem and worth spending money for.Marketing activities include builing a message, creating awareness (but putting out press releases etc.), creating a brand, finding what customers need, creating a PR campaign, setting the pricing, competitive analysis, positio! ning the product against competition etc.Selling activities in! clude cold calling or answering incoming customer requests for information and questions, helping customers make buying decisions, demonstrating products, closing the sale, collecting the money etc. In a completely web based product line, the difference gets a little fuzzy....Show more

Julienne Poplawski: If you purchase 100 shares of stock at $3 per share, you can place a sell order in for $4 per share and walk away from your computer. If the stock goes up to $4, it will automatically sell. Say you are concerned that the stock will fall below $3 per share (while you are away) or further. If you don't want to wait and see whether the stock goes back up again and you want to assure yourself that your loss will be minimal, you could put a stop order in at $2.50 (for instance) and the stock will sell at that mark. This works well when you are spending a substancial amount of money in one stock and is used often by day traders who want to buy and sell the same stock in th! e same day. That is my understanding....Show more

Chris Wilczewski: To cut the chase, selling originates from the manufacturers; whereas marketing orginates from the end user i.e. understanding what customers want and delivering exactly the same.]vibes[
