Alvaro Oare: B/C unlike some kids others actually like music and want to become musicians early. It's fun, educational, and prepares for the future. I play the piano, alto & tenor saxophone and am pretty skilled at it, but i wouldn't know a thing about it if it weren't for the fine arts at my school. Music is my life and I only want to become better at what i do and i'm sure other kids nation wide feel the same. It also teaches creativity and maturity, it's art and culture for crying out loud. Take Fine Arts out of schools and you would be steeling kids' futures out of there hands. It's so much more than and Extracurricular Activity, it's a life style, a profession, and an Art. Plus why should Fine Arts be taken out of schools?...Show more
Angel Klym: Some students learn best either with music playing in the background since it seems to open up different pathways in the brain and some find it easier to learn from other classes by using relationship from a music class! to solve problems.I have always had trouble learning things, even music doesn't come naturally to me. I seem to be mediocre in what I do, but music is an escape hatch for some. It is a place to let your emotions go without feeling like you have opened your heart to the world for judgement. It is a new way to learn other subjects- anatomy, physics, coordination... It is worth every penny to keep in the schools and we should never remove a class that could carry the talents of millions of people a year. If you couldn't take it in school (with a rental instrument even) how many would not be able to afford music on their own. I know I never would have been able to afford private lessons outside of school for the amount of years I played Flute....Show more
